A long conflict-ridden history brought the present incarnation and success of the Livestock Market Auction in Barangay Poblacion, Padre Garcia. Serving as a significant part of the Garcianos cultural and historical identity, tourist flock every Thursday and Friday at the town to take part in the weekly cattle auction. It has a land area of 1.7 Operating 21/7, its average weekly income ranges from Php200,000 to 250,000 and averages monthly at Php800,000 to 1 million. There is an estimated number of 300 traders that conduct business in the Livestock Auction Market, with traders coming from Marinduque , Mindoro, Romblon, Bicol Region, Pangasinan, CALABARZON and NCR. At least 1200 people earn from the LAM. Some of them work as middlemen for trading. The Livestock Auction Market is what made Padre Garcia known as the Cattle Trading Capital of the Philippines. This market also functions as both cultural and economic epicenter of the municipality. The municipality's food, restaurants and their town festival derive inspiration from the Livestock Auction Market.
